During the processing of puffed feed, the protein and starch matrix are fully combined, which improves the absorption rate during feeding and reduces nutrient loss. At the same time, the protein is denatured, the anti-nutritional factors are passivated, the hydrolysis time of the protein in the intestine is shortened, and its potency is increased. In addition, puffing will also generate rumen protein, avoid ammonia poisoning, and improve the utilization rate of protein.
Puffing can reduce the content of bacteria, mold and fungi in the raw materials, improve the sanitary quality of the feed, provide sterile and mature feed for animals, reduce the risk of disease, reduce the addition of drugs, and create conditions for antibiotic-free breeding.
The extrusion puffing process can significantly reduce the crude fiber content in the feed. Under high temperature and high pressure environment, the intercellular matrix and various layers of lignin in the cell wall of the feed raw materials are melted, and some hydrogen bonds are broken, causing high-molecular substances to decompose into low-molecular substances. The originally tight structure becomes fluffy and releases some digestible substances, thereby greatly improving the utilization rate of the feed.
