Cause 1: Misaligned Installation, Uneven Stress on Components
When installing a dog food pellet machine (especially a large twin-screw extruder), it is crucial to ensure the machine body is level and the coaxiality of core components (screw, barrel, gearbox) meets specifications. Excessive level deviation or failure to meet coaxiality requirements will cause severe vibrations during operation, leading to uneven stress on sealing components and connections, gradually creating gaps and causing lubricant leakage. For example, if the gearbox and screw are not installed on the same axis, the friction between the gearbox output shaft and the oil seal will increase during operation, not only wearing down the oil seal but also causing lubricant inside the gearbox to splash due to vibration and leak from the sealing gaps. Tilting the machine body will cause uneven distribution of lubricant within the components, resulting in excessive local pressure that exceeds the seal limit and causes oil leakage.

Cause 2: Improper Operation, Excessive Load Fluctuations
In daily operation, improper operation can cause severe load fluctuations in the dog food pellet maker machine, which can damage the sealing structure and induce oil leakage. Common improper operating procedures include: failing to preheat according to the procedure upon startup and directly feeding at full load, resulting in excessive instantaneous load on the extruder, causing excessive impact force on sealing components and damage; blindly adjusting the feed rate and extrusion parameters (temperature, pressure, speed) during production, causing sudden increases and decreases in the load on the small pet food processing machine, uneven stress on the seals of the gearbox and screw shaft, and increased sealing gaps; and failing to properly empty materials and run the machine idle to cool down upon shutdown, resulting in excessively high internal temperatures, softening of seals, and lubricant leakage.

Contributing Factor 3: Inadequate Adjustment and Inappropriate Sealing Gap
Failure to accurately adjust the sealing gap during the post-installation adjustment of pet food extrusion equipment is also a significant cause of oil leakage. For example, when adjusting the screw shaft end seal, if the clearance is too small, it will cause excessive friction between the seal and the shaft surface, leading to rapid wear and oil leakage; if the clearance is too large, an effective seal cannot be achieved, and lubricating oil will leak directly from the gap. When adjusting the gearbox seal, if the sealing cover is not tightened according to specifications, gaps will appear between the cover and the gearbox body, causing lubricating oil leakage. It is recommended that after equipment installation, professional technicians perform the adjustments to accurately control the sealing clearance. At the same time, standardize daily operating procedures to avoid excessive load fluctuations and reduce oil leakage failures.
