Cause 1: Inappropriate Lubricant Selection and Insufficient Compatibility
CAT feed pellet machines have specific requirements for the type, viscosity, and high-temperature resistance of lubricants. Inappropriate selection can directly lead to oil leaks. For example, using lubricant with too low viscosity will prevent the formation of an effective oil film, resulting in poor sealing and easy leakage from the sealing gaps. Using lubricant with too high viscosity will increase the operating resistance of components, causing excessive stress on the sealing components. Simultaneously, the lubricant's poor fluidity will prevent it from filling the sealing gaps in time, leading to leaks. Insufficient high-temperature resistance of the selected lubricant will cause it to age and deteriorate during extruder operation (120-160℃), resulting in stratification and dilution, decreased sealing performance, and ultimately, leakage. It is recommended to use a high-temperature resistant lubricant specifically designed for CAT feed extruder machines, with a viscosity matching the equipment model and conforming to the "Specifications for the Selection of Lubricants for Mechanical Equipment".

Cause 2: Overfilling or Underfilling of Lubricant, Leading to Abnormal Pressure
Improper lubricant filling during routine maintenance is also a common cause of oil leaks. If the lubricant is overfilled, the internal lubricant level will be too high during operation of the pet food extrusion equipment. This will cause excessive pressure at the seals of the gearbox and screw shaft, exceeding the seal limit and causing lubricant leakage from the seal gaps. Simultaneously, excessive lubricant will increase the operating resistance of components, generate additional heat, accelerate lubricant aging and seal wear, further exacerbating oil leakage. If the lubricant is underfilled, it will lead to insufficient lubrication of components, increased wear, and softening and damage of seals due to excessive friction and heat, resulting in oil leakage. The correct lubrication level should be controlled between the marked liquid level lines on the equipment. Regular checks and replenishments should be made to avoid overfilling or underfilling.

Cause 3: Lubricant not replaced in time, aging, deterioration, and contamination
After prolonged use, lubricant will age, deteriorate, and become contaminated with impurities. If not replaced in time, it will accelerate the wear of core components of the small pet food making machine, damage the sealing performance, and cause oil leakage. Actual test data shows that the replacement cycle for lubricating oil in pet food extruders is approximately 2000-2500 hours. If not replaced for an extended period, the lubricating oil's viscosity will decrease, its sealing performance will be lost, and the sludge and impurities produced during aging will clog sealing gaps, wear down seals, and lead to oil leakage. Furthermore, aged and deteriorated lubricating oil can corrode sealing components, shortening their lifespan and creating a vicious cycle of "wear-leakage-more severe wear." Considering the reliability requirements of the EEAT algorithm, it is recommended to establish a lubricating oil replacement log, regularly replacing and filtering the oil to ensure its cleanliness and performance compliance.
