Addition after pelleting is a process of reprocessing the feed pelleted by the pellet machine, and is mainly suitable for the addition of components that are not conducive to pelleting processing or that lose more during conditioning and pelleting. In most cases, the liquid addition system after granulation is limited to the addition of oil and fat, and the addition amount is about 1% to 10%. Many feed manufacturers have equipment for adding oil and, in some cases, other liquid ingredients.
For example, vitamins, enzymes, prebiotics, etc. in the severe processing process, under high temperature and high humidity conditions, the loss of activity is large, and the retention rate after granulation is low. Adding some pharmaceutical additives before granulation can easily lead to drug residues on the production line, resulting in cross-contamination. The larger proportion of oil and molasses added hinders the pressing and forming of the feed. By moving the addition of these components from before granulation to after granulation, the above problems can be avoided to a limited extent.
In most cases, liquid addition of feed additives provides a more flexible solution for producing pelleted feeds. Increased additional capital investment is available through a more efficient and larger product mix. The post-feed addition system of the pellet machine is highly reliable. It is also an option between advanced systems and simple systems, which require less investment and higher precision; the original system lacks accuracy and consistency.
