Raw Material Particle Size: Adapted to the Operating Requirements of the Wet Dog Food Extruder Machine
All raw materials must be pulverized, with a particle size controlled between 80-100 mesh. If the particle size of starchy raw materials such as corn flour and wheat flour is not up to standard, it will lead to insufficient starch gelatinization within the extruder, resulting in poor pellet formation. If the particle size of protein raw materials such as meat meal and fish meal is too coarse, it will easily wear down the screw and barrel of the wet floating fish feed extruder machine and may also cause uneven nutrition within the pellets. After pulverization, the raw materials must be screened through a vibrating screen to remove unqualified particles, avoid excessive particle size differences, and ensure uniform mixing of the raw materials to prevent localized high starch or protein content, which would affect the extrusion effect.

Raw Material Moisture: Strictly Controlled Within the Standard Range
The moisture content of the mixed raw materials must be precisely controlled within 12%-14%, which is the optimal operating range for the wet pet food extruder machine. Excessive moisture content can cause raw materials to stick to the screw and die inner wall of the extruder, leading to blockages and reducing material friction, resulting in insufficient puffing. Insufficient moisture content increases frictional wear between the material and the equipment, requiring additional steam consumption, increasing energy consumption, and potentially causing pellet scorching. When adjusting moisture content, spray humidification or low-temperature drying can be used to ensure the material "clumps together when squeezed but crumbles easily when touched," avoiding uneven moisture distribution.

Raw Material Purity: Eliminating Impurities and Harmful Components
Physical impurities such as metal, stones, and hair must be strictly removed from the raw materials. These impurities cannot be broken down by the wet dog food pellet machine and will directly scratch the screw, clog the die, and shorten the equipment's lifespan. Moldy raw materials must also be checked, as harmful substances such as aflatoxin cannot be completely decomposed after the high-temperature treatment of the extruder and can harm dogs' health. It is recommended to use multi-layer screening + magnetic separation devices to remove impurities and to perform toxin testing on suspicious raw materials to ensure dog food safety and equipment stability from the source.
