Adding gear oil correctly requires following the core process of "preparation-preheating-cleaning-addition-inspection," with each step tailored to the structural characteristics of the Small Home Use Dog Food Making Machine. Step 1: Preparation. First, confirm the machine model and consult the instruction manual to determine the gearbox oil chamber capacity and recommended gear oil type (e.g., 150# extreme pressure gear oil for small machines, 220# for medium machines). Prepare gear oil, an oil can, a dipstick, a rag, and an oil collection tray. Ensure the floating fish feed pellet making machine is off and powered off to prevent accidental start-up and potential safety hazards.
Step 2: Equipment Preheating and Gearbox Cleaning. For machines that have been idle for a long time or new equipment, start the Small Fish Feed Maker Machine under no-load for 5-10 minutes to raise the gearbox temperature to 30-40℃. This will increase the fluidity of any remaining old oil (rust-preventive oil for new equipment), facilitating subsequent cleaning. After shutdown, open the drain plug at the bottom of the gearbox, place the oil collection tray underneath, and drain the old oil or rust-preventive oil. Once the oil has completely drained, close the drain plug. If the old oil contains a lot of impurities, add a small amount of new gear oil, start the equipment and run it unloaded for 1-2 minutes, then drain and clean again to ensure no residual impurities remain inside the gearbox.
Step 3: Add gear oil correctly. Locate the filler cap on top of the gearbox, open it, and wipe away dust and debris around the filler cap with a cloth to prevent impurities from entering the oil chamber. Pour the gear oil into the filler container and slowly pour it into the filler cap. The pouring process should be uniform and slow to avoid overflowing. While adding oil, check the oil level using a dipstick. Since the oil chamber capacity of the small fish feed making machine is small, it is recommended to add oil and check continuously to avoid adding too much at once.
Step 4: Check and confirm the oil level. After adding oil, replace the filler cap and start the Small Fish Feed Extruder Machine. Run it unloaded for 2-3 minutes to allow the gear oil to circulate fully within the gearbox, ensuring all lubrication points are covered. After stopping the machine, let it stand for 5 minutes to allow the oil to drain back. Remove the dipstick, wipe it clean with a cloth, and reinsert it into the oil chamber. Observe the oil level; it should be between the "MAX" (maximum) and "MIN" (minimum) marks on the dipstick. The ideal oil level is slightly above the middle of the mark. If the oil level is too low, add oil; if it is too high, open the drain plug to drain excess oil.
Step 5: Follow-up Inspection. After adding oil, check that the filler and drain plugs are tight to prevent oil leakage during the operation of the small fish feed pellet making machine. After running the equipment for 30 minutes, touch the outer wall of the gearbox to check if the temperature is normal (it should not exceed 60℃) and observe for any oil leakage. Beginners should note that it is strictly forbidden to open the oil filler cap while the equipment is running to avoid burns from hot oil splashing; the added gear oil must be completely compatible with the equipment requirements and different types or brands of gear oil should not be mixed.
