Cleaning Step 1: Shutdown and Power Off, Safety Pre-Cleanup
The primary prerequisite for cleaning a dog food extruder machine is ensuring operational safety and preventing accidental start-up that could cause personal injury or equipment damage.
First, stop the extruder's feed, turn off the power switch, and unplug the power cord to ensure the equipment is completely powered off and stopped.
Second, allow the pet food processing machine to cool naturally to below 50℃ (to avoid burns from high-temperature cleaning and to prevent deformation caused by cold water contact with high-temperature components), generally 10-15 minutes.
Third, clean up any loose raw materials and dust from the machine surface. Wipe the machine body and control panel with a clean cloth to prevent dust from entering the equipment and affecting subsequent cleaning and operation. At the same time, prepare cleaning tools (soft brush, warm water, neutral detergent, rust-preventive oil, dry cloth), ensuring the tools are clean and free of impurities to avoid secondary contamination.

Cleaning Step 2: Clean Residual Materials, Focus on Core Components
Residual materials are a major cause of bacterial growth and equipment wear. Therefore, it is essential to focus on cleaning the core components of the dog food pellet making machine.
Step 1: Open the extruder barrel cover and die head fixing device. Gently clean any residual material inside the die head orifice with a soft brush, avoiding excessive force that could clog the orifice or damage the die head.
Step 2: Clean any residual raw material and grease from the screw surface. Use a soft brush with warm water to wipe it clean. If the residue is stubborn, apply a small amount of neutral detergent (do not use corrosive detergents to avoid damaging the screw coating), gently wipe, and then rinse thoroughly with warm water.
Step 3: Clean any residual material from the feed and discharge channels.Use a soft brush to unclog the channels, ensuring no material buildup to prevent blockages during subsequent pet food extrusion machine production.

Cleaning Step 3: Dry and Maintain, Completing the Cleaning Loop
Post-cleaning maintenance extends the lifespan of the dog food pellet maker machine parts and prevents corrosion. This is a crucial final step in the daily cleaning process.
First, thoroughly dry the screw, barrel, die, and feed channel with a clean, dry cloth to ensure no moisture remains (moisture can cause rust and mold growth on materials).
Second, evenly apply a small amount of food-grade rust-preventive oil to the screw and die surfaces, especially the screw threads and die bore. This effectively prevents rust and reduces material adhesion during the next production run.
Third, reinstall the die and barrel cover, ensuring a secure and well-sealed installation. Finally, wipe the pet food extrusion equipment surface again with a dry cloth, tidy up the cleaning tools, and complete the daily basic cleaning. Considering the practicality requirements of the EEAT algorithm, it is recommended to clean immediately after each production run to prevent residual material from drying and increasing cleaning difficulty.
