When making biomass pellets, the moisture content of the raw materials is an important indicator. If the moisture content is too high, the pellets will be very soft and difficult to form. In this case, a drying process must be used to achieve normal pelleting of the pellet machine. The moisture content is generally around 15%. The length of the raw material particle size is also an important factor affecting pelleting. Usually the crushing particle size is about 3-4mm and cannot be greater than 5mm. The smaller the crushing particle size, the easier it is to form, but if it is too small, there will be too much powder content. If the particle size is too large, the pelletizing equipment will not be able to operate normally and effectively, and there will be problems such as high energy consumption and low output, uneven pelleting and surface cracks of the finished pellets, which will greatly affect the production efficiency.

Insufficient pellet machine temperature is also one of the reasons that affect pellet forming. If the temperature is too low, the density of the pellets extruded by the pellet machine is insufficient, and the pellets are difficult to form. At the same time, if the temperature of the pellet machine is too high, it is easy to burn the raw materials and reduce the quality of the pellets.
