When the pressure of a dog food pellet machine is too high (above 5.5 MPa), the core adjustment strategy is to "reduce extrusion resistance + reduce raw material accumulation," while simultaneously troubleshooting the cause of the malfunction. First, use the "die cleaning + orifice replacement" adjustment method: After stopping the machine and disconnecting the power, disassemble the die head and clean out any clogged raw materials (excessive moisture or uneven particle size in the raw materials easily leads to die head blockage, increasing discharge resistance). If the die head orifice is worn too small, replace it with a die head with a larger orifice. Second, use the "feed speed reduction + temperature increase" adjustment method: Reduce the feed speed by 10-15% to reduce the amount of raw material entering, while simultaneously increasing the heating temperature by 5-10°C to enhance the flowability of the raw material and reduce extrusion resistance. If the pressure is still too high after adjustment, check the screw wear. Worn screw edges can cause uneven material delivery, localized accumulation, and increased pressure, requiring screw replacement.
When the pressure of a small dry dog food making machine is too low (below 2 MPa), the core adjustment strategy is to "increase extrusion resistance + increase raw material filling amount," while simultaneously troubleshooting the malfunction. First, the "die replacement + increased feed rate" adjustment method is used: replace with a die with one of smaller diameter to increase discharge resistance, and simultaneously increase the feed rate by 10-15% to increase the amount of raw material filling the extrusion chamber and increase pressure. Second, the "temperature reduction + raw material moisture adjustment" method is used: reduce the heating temperature by 5-10℃ to increase the viscosity of the raw material and increase extrusion resistance. If the raw material moisture is too low (below 12%), spray warm water appropriately to adjust the moisture to 12-15%, enhancing the material's binding properties and increasing pressure. If the pressure is still too low after adjustment, the die wear needs to be checked. Excessive die orifice wear (exceeding the standard orifice diameter by 0.2mm) will lead to insufficient discharge resistance, requiring die replacement. For example, when processing cat food, if die wear results in a pressure of only 1.8MPa, replacing the die and increasing the feed rate to 38Hz will raise the pressure to the normal range of 4MPa.
When the pressure fluctuations in dog food manufacturing equipment are too large, a "stable feeding + temperature control coordination" adjustment method should be adopted: check whether the feeding system is blocked, ensure that the raw materials enter at a uniform speed, and avoid sudden changes in the amount of raw materials fed; stabilize the heating temperature with a temperature controller to avoid temperature fluctuations causing changes in the fluidity of the raw materials, which in turn cause pressure fluctuations. At the same time, check whether the equipment's foundation bolts are loose, as equipment vibration can also cause unstable pressure, and the bolts need to be tightened.
