How to Adjust Pressure in a Floating fish feed pellet extruder machine

The most basic pressure adjustment method for a floating fish feed extruder machine is the die orifice replacement method. This method is suitable for processing various pet foods such as dog food and cat food. The core principle is to adjust the extrusion pressure by changing the size of the discharge channel. The die is the discharge component of the small dry dog food making machine. The smaller the orifice, the greater the resistance to material discharge and the higher the pressure inside the extrusion chamber; the larger the orifice, the smaller the discharge resistance and the lower the pressure. Operating steps: First, stop the machine and disconnect the power. After the small pet food making machine has completely cooled down, use a special tool to remove the die fixing bolts. Select a die with the corresponding orifice diameter according to the processing requirements (1-2mm small orifice for puppy food, 3-5mm medium orifice for adult pet food). Precisely install the new die in place and evenly tighten the fixing bolts to ensure a good seal and no leakage. Start the machine for a test run and observe the pressure gauge display. If the pressure is stable at 3-5MPa (the standard pressure range for pet extruders), normal production is possible. Note that after changing the die, the material feed speed must be adjusted simultaneously to avoid excessive pressure fluctuations.

Feed rate adjustment is a basic and commonly used pressure regulation method, changing the pressure by controlling the amount of raw material entering the extrusion chamber. When the pressure of the cat food making machine is too high, reducing the feed rate decreases the amount of raw material accumulating in the extrusion chamber, and the pressure will drop accordingly; when the pressure is too low, increasing the feed rate increases the amount of raw material filling, and the pressure will rise. During operation, the variable frequency feeding system of the extruder is required. For home-use extruders, this can be controlled by adjusting the feed knob; industrial-grade equipment uses a touch screen to set the feed frequency. For example, when processing cat food, if the pressure exceeds 5MPa, the feed frequency can be reduced from 30Hz to 25Hz, observing the changes in the pressure gauge, and gradually adjusted to the standard range. It is important to note that feed rate adjustments must be gradual, with each adjustment not exceeding 5Hz to avoid sudden pressure changes that could lead to equipment malfunction or unstable kibble quality.

Temperature-assisted regulation is a fundamental method to assist pressure regulation, and its effectiveness is enhanced when used in conjunction with die replacement and feed rate adjustment. The temperature of automatic fish food making equipment affects the fluidity of raw materials. Higher temperatures increase fluidity, resulting in lower extrusion pressure under the same conditions; conversely, lower temperatures decrease fluidity, leading to higher pressure. During operation, the temperature of the extruder's heating section is adjusted using a temperature controller. For dog food processing, a temperature of 120-140℃ is recommended, while for cat food, due to its high protein content, the temperature can be appropriately increased to 130-150℃. For example, if the pressure is too high, the heating temperature can be increased by 5-10℃. Increased fluidity reduces extrusion resistance, causing the pressure to naturally decrease. If the pressure is too low, the temperature can be appropriately decreased by about 5℃ to increase the viscosity of the raw material and thus increase pressure. Beginners should remember that temperature adjustments should not be too drastic, and pressure changes should only be assessed after the temperature has stabilized.
